What Utility Template means
A Utility template is a message template in the Utility category: a message tied to a specific transaction or account event the customer is expecting. Order confirmations, shipping and delivery updates, appointment reminders, payment receipts and account alerts are all Utility templates.
Because these messages are transactional and anticipated rather than promotional, they generally clear Meta's review quickly and, under the current pricing model, sit at a lower price than Marketing. They still must relate to a real event for the recipient — a Utility template used for promotion risks being re-categorised. An example is "Your order #4821 has shipped and will arrive Tuesday."
