What Authentication Template means
An Authentication template is a message template in the Authentication category: it delivers one-time passcodes (OTPs) and login or verification codes to a business's own end customers. It is the narrowest category and follows a fixed, standardised format that Meta enforces.
Authentication templates come with a built-in copy-code button so the recipient can tap to copy the OTP, and their wording is constrained to security-code use. This standardisation makes them fast to approve and helps recipients trust the code is genuine. An example is "123456 is your verification code. For your security, do not share this code."
Note this is different from WABA two-factor authentication, which is a PIN that protects the business's own number registration. InfiQ supports Authentication templates for delivering OTPs to your customers, with the category set correctly for approval and pricing.
