In detail
Business verification is Meta's process of confirming that your business is a real, legally registered entity. It is done through Meta Business Manager and unlocks higher messaging tiers, higher-volume capabilities and eligibility for trust features like the green tick.
How long it takes varies and cannot be promised as a fixed duration. Once you submit the required documents, review typically completes within a few days. In practice it can be faster — sometimes same-day — or slower, occasionally a couple of weeks, especially if documents are hard to read, the business name or address doesn't match your official records, or Meta requests additional information.
The biggest lever on speed is document quality. Verification goes fastest when the business name, address and registration details on your submitted documents (such as a certificate of incorporation, tax registration or a utility bill) exactly match what you entered in Business Manager. Mismatches, blurry scans or an unverifiable phone number or website are the common reasons for delay or rejection.
Importantly, you don't have to wait for verification to begin. A connected number can send on the starting messaging tier (250 unique customers per rolling 24 hours) right away. Verification is what lets you climb beyond that and access higher-volume tiers, so submit it early and keep messaging quality clean while it processes.
If verification is rejected, Meta usually states why; correct the specific issue — most often a document mismatch — and resubmit.
