Narnaul has been Mahendragarh district's headquarters since 1948, and its year runs on fairs: Ram Navami, Raksha Bandhan and Somvati Amavas. Most of its customers write first, in Hindi or Haryanvi.
A Narnaul business
For Narnaul's mustard oil mills and the shops they supply across Mahendragarh district, the cabs and stalls of its fairs at Dhosi Hill, Chamunda Devi and Bamanwas, and the guides who show visitors Jal Mahal and Birbal ka Chhatta: what each sends on WhatsApp, and what it costs.

A family writes to a Narnaul cab service before the Somvati Amavas fair at Dhosi Hill. Play the chat to see which messages are free-form replies and which one has to be an approved template.
The family's messages cost the cab service nothing, and its three chat answers are replies at ₹0.145 each. Only the booking confirmation, sent the evening before when the window had closed, is a template, at ₹0.19.

From the Mahendragarh district administration's pages and Invest India's ODOP list; the tombs and the languages are general background from Wikipedia.
Mahendragarh district was formed in 1948 as a PEPSU territory carved from Patiala State, with its headquarters at Narnaul; in 1861 the Narnaul Nizam had been renamed the Mahendragarh Nizam.[2]
Rewari was carved out of it as a new district on 1 November 1989.[2]
The district has four subdivisions, Narnaul, Mahendragarh, Kanina and Nangal Choudhary, five tehsils including Ateli, and the sub-tehsil of Satnali; it lists Hindi and English as its languages.[1]
Jal Mahal stands outside the populated area in the south of the town, built in 1591; Chhatta Rai Bal Mukund Dass, known as Birbal ka Chhatta, stands in the densest part of Narnaul; Chor Gumbad rises on a height in the north-west.[3]
Sher Shah built a tomb for his grandfather, Ibrahim Khan Suri, inside the dargah complex at Narnaul, and Shah Quli Khan commissioned a two-storeyed octagonal tomb.[5]
Dhosi Hill, about 8 km west near Thana and Kultajpur, is where Chyavan Rishi is said to have done penance; 457 steps climb it from Thana, and a fair is held on Somvati Amavas.[4]
The Chamunda Devi temple in the heart of Narnaul holds a big fair on Ram Navami; the Modawala Shiva temple on the Narnaul–Rewari road, near the new bus stand, holds one on Raksha Bandhan.[4]
At Bamanwas, about 25 km south-west on the Haryana–Rajasthan border, Baba Rameshwar Dass's temple holds a large annual fair on Ram Navami.[4]
Four businesses that follow from the district's mustard oil, its monuments, its fairs and its role as headquarters.
Mustard oil is Mahendragarh district's ODOP product, sold to shops across its tehsils.[6],[1]
Jal Mahal, Birbal ka Chhatta and Chor Gumbad are the district's listed tourist places.[3]
Dhosi Hill, Chamunda Devi, Modawala and Bamanwas each hold a big fair in their season.[4]
Narnaul serves four subdivisions and five tehsils, from Ateli to Kanina and Satnali.[1]
Haryanvi and Ahirwati are not Meta template languages; Hindi and English are. Each language version is a separate template, approved before it is sent.
Replies inside the 24-hour window are free-form, so staff can answer in Haryanvi or Ahirwati whenever a customer writes in them. InfiQ's own support works in English and Hindi.
