Madanapalle and Annamayya, in eight lines

Annamayya district's One District One Product entries are Madanapalle handloom silk sarees and wooden toys, the Raja Rani dolls.[1]
The district home page now lists 3 revenue divisions, 25 mandals and 4 municipalities, with Telugu as its language.[1]
Its major crops are paddy, groundnut, sunflower, cotton and betel leaves, with mango, papaya, banana, lemon and sweet orange among horticultural crops.[2]
Average rainfall is 738.5 mm a year, and dry crops such as groundnut and redgram, which depend on the south-west monsoon, cover 75% of the cropped area.[2]
Silk weaving around the town is concentrated in Neerugattupalle.[4]
In 1919 Rabindranath Tagore stayed at the Besant Theosophical College here and translated Jana Gana Mana into English.[4]
