WhatsApp Business API for Bansberia's temple guides, Kartik Puja decorators and shops

Bansberia's visitors come for a temple of thirteen spires, by local train from Bandel or across the bridge from Kalyani, and they ask before they come. Its puja committees ask weeks before Kartik Puja. Those questions need an answer within a day, and the day is the rule.

For Bansberia's eateries, drivers and guides who serve visitors to the Hangseswari and Ananta Basudeba temples, the decorators and caterers of its Kartik Puja, shops with customers across the Iswar Gupta Setu, and Hooghly's costume-jewellery workshops: the 24-hour reply window, Bengali templates, and the rupee cost of each message.

A Kartik Puja committee's 24 hours with a Bansberia decorator

Drag along the day to see what a lighting and pandal decorator may send after a committee from across the bridge first writes, and what changes when the window closes.

For a decorator, a caterer or a guide, the window is the working rule. Answer while it is open and every message is a reply. Miss it and the next message must be an approved template, which is fine for a booking confirmation and wrong for a sales pitch. Offers for next year's puja need the committee's yes.

Market brief

Bansberia in seven lines

From the Hooghly district administration and Invest India's ODOP list, with Wikipedia only for the town's history, transport and festivals.

  1. 01

The district describes the Hangseswari temple as a five-storey temple with thirteen ratnas, laid out on the Tantric idea of Satchakrabhed, and one of the most important temples in Hooghly district.[1]

  2. 02

Beside it stand the Ananta Basudeba temple, known for its terracotta plates, and the Swanbhaba Kali temple built by Nrisinhadeb in 1788; the Hangseswari is about five minutes by rickshaw from Bansberia station and twenty by auto from Bandel.[1]

  3. 03

Bansberia is a municipality, established in 1869, in the Chinsurah subdivision and the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority area, about 45 km from Kolkata at the western end of the Iswar Gupta Setu to Kalyani.[4]

  4. 04

It was one of the main towns of ancient Saptagram; the Zafar Khan Ghazi mosque at Tribeni, dated 1298, is among the earliest surviving Muslim monuments in Bengal.[4]

  5. 05

Bansberia station is 4 km from Bandel Junction on the Bandel–Katwa line, served by Howrah–, Bandel– and Sealdah–Katwa locals; the high west bank of the Hooghly here is heavily industrial.[4]

  6. 06

Kartik Puja is the town's famous festival, and Bansberia is also known for its Kumbh Mela.[4]

  7. 07

Hooghly district, headquartered at Chinsurah, covers 3,149 sq km with 4 subdivisions and 18 blocks; its ODOP products are Dhaniakhali handloom saris, costume jewellery and chikan embroidery.[2],[3]

Thirteen ratnas (১৩ রত্ন) and a day to answer

A visitor deciding whether to come to Bansberia on Sunday will not wait until Monday for directions.

Bansberia's visitors plan short trips: a local train from Bandel or Howrah, an auto from the station, the Hangseswari's spires and the terracotta of the Ananta Basudeba, lunch, and home. They ask about the route and the food the evening before, and the business that answers first gets the visit.

WhatsApp's 24-hour window suits that rhythm. Every answer to a visitor who wrote is a reply, with no template and no approval. The confirmation of a guided tour, sent after the window closes, is a utility template approved once in Bengali.

Questions Bansberia businesses ask

Visitors to the Hangseswari temple ask our Bansberia eatery for directions from Bandel the evening before. Can we reply with a map and the menu?+
Yes. The visitor's message opens a 24-hour window in which you can send the map, the menu and photos with no template, at ₹0.145 per message. If the visitor writes again, the window starts over.
A Kartik Puja committee asks our Bansberia lighting firm for a quote at night. How long can we keep replying freely?+
For 24 hours from the committee's last message. Every reply in that time is a service message at ₹0.145. After it closes, a site-visit or booking confirmation goes as a utility template at ₹0.19; a pitch for extra lights would be marketing.
Customers across the Iswar Gupta Setu in Kalyani order from our Bansberia shop. Does crossing the river into Nadia change the cost?+
No. Meta charges by the recipient's country code, so every +91 number is billed at the India rate, in Hooghly or Nadia. An order-ready note is ₹0.19 and a reply ₹0.145.
Our guide service shows visitors the terracotta of the Ananta Basudeba temple in Bansberia. Can we confirm the tour and the meeting point on WhatsApp?+
Yes. A tour confirmation with the date, time and meeting point near Bansberia station is a utility template for a tour already booked, at ₹0.19. Keep offers for other tours out of it, or Meta may classify it as marketing.
Our workshop near Bansberia makes costume jewellery, one of Hooghly's ODOP products. Can we send new designs to shops in Kolkata?+
To shops that ask, yes: photos go as replies at ₹0.145 inside their 24-hour window. Sending new designs unasked is marketing at ₹0.94, and only to shops that agreed to receive offers, with a record of when and how.
Bansberia is known for its Kumbh Mela. Can our stall tell last year's customers when we will be there?+
Only customers who agreed to receive offers from you, with a recorded yes. A past purchase is not an opt-in. The notice goes as an approved marketing template at ₹0.94, in Bengali, with a way to opt out.
