In detail
Embedded Signup is the streamlined onboarding flow Meta built so businesses can connect the WhatsApp Business API through a Business Solution Provider without manual back-and-forth. Instead of exchanging IDs and access tokens by email, the whole connection happens inside a guided pop-up.
When you start signup on a partner platform like InfiQ, you click "Connect WhatsApp," which opens Meta's Embedded Signup window. You log in with Facebook, select or create the Meta Business Manager that will own the account, and either create a new WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) or reuse an existing one. You then add the phone number you want to use — a number not already active on a personal WhatsApp — and verify it with an OTP sent by SMS or call.
Behind the scenes, completing the flow grants the partner the permissions needed to send and receive messages on your behalf and to manage templates, and it links billing. Because the business owns the WABA inside its own Business Manager, you keep control and can revoke access at any time.
Embedded Signup dramatically shortens time-to-live: many businesses finish the connection in minutes and are provisioned within 2 hours once verification and the first template are in place. It also reduces errors, since Meta validates each step (business, number, ownership) as you go rather than after the fact.
