Checked on a light and a dark background so you can judge contrast.
Low contrast: this text and background combination is likely hard to read (ratio ~2.0:1). Try switching the text colour or picking a darker/lighter background.
Add your WhatsApp number to make the button clickable.

Self-contained: one anchor tag with inline styles and an inline SVG icon — no CSS files, no JavaScript, no external requests. Paste it anywhere HTML is accepted.
How it works
Three steps, no signup
Style your button
Set the label, your WhatsApp number and an optional pre-filled message, then pick a colour, size, corner radius and whether to show the WhatsApp icon.
Check the preview
The live preview renders your button on both a light and a dark strip, and flags colour combinations that are likely too low-contrast to read.
Copy and paste the HTML
Copy the snippet — a single anchor tag with inline styles — and paste it into any CMS, page builder or template that accepts HTML.

What makes a WhatsApp button actually get tapped
The label does most of the work. Generic labels like “Click here” or “Contact us” ask the visitor to guess what happens next; labels that state the outcome remove that guesswork. “Get sizing help on WhatsApp” beats “Click here” because it names the benefit, the channel and the effort involved in one short phrase. Match the label to the page it sits on: a product page earns “Ask about this product”, a pricing page earns “Talk to us about pricing”, and an order-tracking page earns “Check my order status”. Pair each label with a matching pre-filled message so the conversation opens with context and you know exactly which page it came from.
Placement matters almost as much. On desktop, a button above the fold — near the headline or next to the primary product information — catches visitors while intent is highest. On mobile, where most WhatsApp conversations actually start, a sticky footer button often works better than an inline one: it stays reachable by thumb no matter how far someone scrolls, without forcing them back to the top of the page. If you use a sticky element, keep it compact and make sure it never covers form fields or checkout buttons; a chat prompt that blocks the purchase it was meant to assist is a net loss.
Finally, practise one-CTA-per-screen discipline. When a screen shows “Chat on WhatsApp”, “Call now”, “Email us” and “Subscribe” side by side, each option dilutes the others and many visitors choose none. Decide what the one next step is for each page and give the button room to be the obvious answer. That also makes measurement honest: with a single chat entry point per page and a distinct pre-filled message on each, you can see which pages start conversations — and which conversations turn into customers — without any extra tracking code.
- State the outcome in the label, not the mechanism.
- Use a different pre-filled message per page for free attribution.
- On mobile, prefer a compact sticky button over an inline one buried mid-page.
- Keep contrast readable — the preview above flags risky colour pairs.
- One primary CTA per screen; remove competing buttons.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How do I add the WhatsApp button to my website?
Copy the generated snippet and paste it wherever your site accepts HTML — a custom HTML block in WordPress, Shopify or Wix, an embed element in Webflow, or directly into your page template. It is a single anchor tag with inline styles, so it needs no CSS file, JavaScript or external requests.
Will the button work in emails?
Partially. The link itself works in every email client, but many clients — including Gmail — strip inline SVG, so the WhatsApp icon may not render. For email, turn the icon off in the generator, or keep the icon version for web pages and use a plain styled link in email.
What phone number format does the button need?
The full international format with digits only: country code followed by the number, no plus sign, spaces or leading zero. For an Indian number that is 91 plus the 10-digit mobile number — for example 917880148433. The generator enforces this format for you.
Does the button work if the visitor is on a desktop?
Yes. The button uses WhatsApp's official wa.me click-to-chat link, which opens the WhatsApp app on mobile and WhatsApp Web or the desktop app on a computer. The optional pre-filled message appears in the chat box on both, ready for the visitor to send.
Do I need the WhatsApp Business API for this button?
No — the button works with any WhatsApp number, including a personal one or the free WhatsApp Business app. The API matters once the button starts generating real volume: it lets a whole team answer from a shared inbox, adds chatbots for instant first replies, and gives you reporting on every conversation the button starts.
