Turn any scan into a WhatsApp conversation
Generate a print-ready WhatsApp QR code for your business number, with an optional pre-filled message. Pick a size and colour, download the PNG — free, no signup.
Set up your QR code
The message appears pre-typed when someone scans the code — they still tap send themselves. Keep it short: longer text makes the QR pattern denser and harder to scan.
Your QR code
Enter your WhatsApp number and the QR code appears here.
The PNG downloads at 512 × 512 px with the InfiQ logo centred — error-correction level H keeps it fully scannable. Everything runs in your browser; your number never leaves this page.
How it works
Three steps, no signup
Enter your number
Add your country code and WhatsApp number, plus an optional message that appears pre-typed when someone scans.
Style the code
Choose 256, 512 or 1024 px and a colour — navy, black or WhatsApp green. The preview updates live as you type.
Download and print
Save the PNG, drop it into your packaging, storefront or poster artwork, and test it with your own phone before printing at scale.

Where WhatsApp QR codes work best
A QR code closes the gap between your physical presence and your WhatsApp inbox. Instead of asking customers to save a number and type a first message, one scan opens the chat with the message already written. That removes just enough friction that people who would never dial a phone number will happily start a conversation. The places it earns its keep are the ones where a customer is already holding their phone and has a reason to reach you.
- Product packaging— a code on the box or label with a message like “Hi, I just bought [product]” routes warranty registrations and support questions straight to chat instead of a call centre.
- Storefronts and counters — a code at the till or on the window lets walk-ins ask about stock, hours or bookings after they have left the shop.
- Bills and receipts — printed on invoices, a code gives customers a low-effort channel for delivery queries and reorders while the purchase is fresh.
- Vehicle branding — delivery vans and autos are moving hoardings; a large code turns a glance in traffic into a saved conversation.
- Event standees and stalls— at exhibitions a code with a pre-filled message like “Send me the catalogue” captures leads without a signup form.
Size matters more than style. For close-range surfaces — receipts, cards, packaging — print the code at a minimum of 2 x 2 cm so it scans comfortably at arm's length. The working rule for anything further away is roughly one tenth of the scanning distance: a code meant to be scanned from three metres, say on a standee or the back of a van, should be about 30 cm across. When in doubt, go bigger; a generous quiet zone of white space around the code helps too, so avoid cropping tight against other artwork.
Always test before you print in volume. Scan the code from the actual distance customers will, in the lighting they will have, on at least one older phone. Check that the right chat opens and the pre-filled message reads well. If you laminate or print on glossy or curved surfaces, test again — glare and curvature are the two most common reasons a code that worked on screen fails in the field.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What happens when someone scans a WhatsApp QR code?
The code encodes a wa.me link, so any phone camera or QR scanner opens WhatsApp with a chat to your number ready to go. If you added a pre-filled message, it appears typed in the chat box — the customer just taps send. No app beyond WhatsApp itself is needed.
Do WhatsApp QR codes expire?
Codes generated with this tool never expire, because they encode a plain wa.me link rather than a session token. The code keeps working as long as the phone number behind it stays active on WhatsApp. If you change numbers, generate and reprint a new code.
Which size should I download for print?
For stickers, receipts and business cards, 512 px is comfortable. For posters, standees or vehicle branding choose 1024 px so the code stays crisp when scaled up. As a rule of thumb, print at least 2 x 2 cm for scanning at arm's length, and larger when people will scan from further away.
Can I change the QR code colour and still have it scan?
Yes, as long as there is strong contrast between the dark modules and the light background. The navy, black and WhatsApp green options here all scan reliably on a white background. Avoid light foreground colours or dark backgrounds — scanners expect dark-on-light.
Is my phone number sent to a server when I generate a code?
No. The QR image is generated entirely in your browser and downloaded directly from the page. Nothing you type — number or message — is stored or transmitted anywhere.
