What syncing Shopify unlocks
Four flows teams typically wire up first when Shopify starts talking to WhatsApp.
Order events become messages
Order placed, packed, shipped, delivered — each Shopify webhook can fire an approved WhatsApp template with live order details, so customers stop asking where their parcel is.
Abandoned-checkout recovery
Checkout-abandoned events trigger a reminder with the cart contents and a link back to checkout. WhatsApp reminders get read where email gets buried.
COD confirmation that cuts RTO
Confirm cash-on-delivery orders with a yes/no button message before you ship. Unconfirmed orders get flagged instead of returned.
Customer sync for campaigns
Sync Shopify customers and tags into InfiQ contact lists, then run segmented broadcasts — new-collection drops to repeat buyers, win-backs to lapsed ones.
How it works today
Connect today with webhooks and the REST API
No waiting on a connector: Shopify and InfiQ can talk today over the same rails the native integration will use.
- 1
Create your API credentials
Sign in to the InfiQ dashboard and generate a scoped API key — it takes about a minute.
- 2
Wire Shopify events to InfiQ
Point Shopify's webhooks or automation layer at the InfiQ REST API, and subscribe to InfiQ webhooks for replies and delivery states.
- 3
Send approved templates
Trigger pre-approved WhatsApp templates with live data, and handle inbound replies in the shared team inbox or your own system.
Example flows
- Shopify order-created webhook → InfiQ API → order confirmation template with items and total
- Fulfilment update → shipping template with tracking link and delivery-day estimate
- Checkout-abandoned event → 30-minute delayed reminder with a resume-checkout button
Endpoint references, payload examples and sandbox keys are in the developer docs.
Native Shopify integration
A Shopify app you install from the admin: authorise once, pick which order and checkout events send which templates, and map customer fields — no code, no middleware. Cart-recovery and COD-confirmation recipes will ship as one-click presets.
Native integration coming soon — connect today via webhooks and the REST API. Flows you build now carry over unchanged when the connector ships: it replaces the wiring, not your templates or automations.

FAQ
Shopify integration — common questions
Is the Shopify integration available now?
Yes — you can connect Shopify to InfiQ today using webhooks and the REST API. What is still in development is the native one-click connector; until it ships, the connection is API-based rather than point-and-click.
What can I automate between Shopify and WhatsApp?
The most common flows are order and shipping notifications, abandoned-checkout recovery, COD confirmation before dispatch, delivery feedback and review requests, and segmented broadcasts to synced customer lists. Anything Shopify emits as a webhook can become a WhatsApp message.
Do I need developers to set this up?
For the direct API route, yes — a developer typically wires up the first flow in a few hours using our docs at /developers. If you have no engineering bandwidth, you can bridge Shopify and InfiQ through Zapier or Make without writing code. The native connector will remove the technical step entirely.
When is the native connector coming?
Native connectors roll out in phases and we do not publish dates we cannot keep — talk to us for the current roadmap. Building on the API today is safe: when the connector ships it replaces the plumbing, not your templates or message flows.
Put Shopify on WhatsApp this week.
Start with the API today and switch to the native connector when it lands. Our team will map the flow in a 20-minute call.
