What Conversation means
On the WhatsApp Business Platform, a conversation is the 24-hour window of messaging between a business and a customer, opened by a delivered message. It was Meta's unit of billing until 1 July 2025 — WhatsApp used to meter one charge per conversation regardless of how many messages it contained.
That conversation-based model is now deprecated. Since 1 July 2025 Meta charges per delivered message, priced by the template's category, with the exact rate varying by category and by the customer's country. InfiQ passes Meta's per-message charges through, with a live rate card in the dashboard so you always see the current rates rather than a fixed number.
The conversation still matters operationally: utility templates and free-form service replies sent inside an open 24-hour window are free today, so keeping a window open remains the cheapest way to engage. But the charge itself is now counted per message, not per conversation.
