Click-to-Chat

Growth & marketing

Definition
A wa.me link or QR code that opens a WhatsApp chat with a business, optionally with a pre-filled message, without saving the number.

What Click-to-Chat means

Click-to-Chat is a way to start a WhatsApp conversation from a link or QR code. A wa.me link (for example https://wa.me/919999999999) opens a chat with a specific number, and it can carry a pre-filled message so the customer only has to press send. No one needs to save the number first.

Businesses place these links on websites, in email signatures, on social profiles, on packaging and on printed materials, turning any touchpoint into a WhatsApp entry point. A customer who taps the link starts a service conversation, opening the 24-hour customer-service window.

InfiQ offers free tools to generate wa.me links, QR codes and chat buttons, so any team can create Click-to-Chat entry points without code.
