Install the following package using synaptic.
build-essential, autogen, automake,libncurses5-dev,codeblock, libcodeblock.
You can download Codeblocks & Libcodeblocks here
Once everything is installed, fire up Codeblocks & head straight to settings>compiler & debugger & add ncurses to the linker libraries list.
